Congratulations to a close friend of the TAMA system Tony Cogliandro on his recent promotion to Grandmaster level in Kenpo. It is well deserved and all the best from the TAMA Dojo.

On June 11th 2011 the TAMA System recently recognized and promoted the following people;

Sa Bum Nim Gus Cooks  5th Degree Black Belt

Sa Bum Nim Paul Asmar  5th Degree Black Belt

The TAMA Dojo competition team is in its 5th year of existence. They team is made up of 8 members ranging from ages 6-12, from yellow belt to green belt.  Over the years the team has competed in point sparring, kickboxing, forms and weapons divisions.  The 2011 team has made the commitment to additional training in order to compete in various tournaments all over New England. Past team members have competed in New England, New York, Florida and the 2008 World Championships in Naples Italy.

“The will to win is not as important as the will to prepare to win”

The TAMA Dojo staff and students recently participated in a grapple a thon to raise money for The Pan Mass Challenge to benefit cancer research. The students and instructors did 110 rounds of grappling in an event to raise money for this charity. The TAMA Dojo is in partnership with the Flying Henry’s cycling team. All of the donations for 2011 have not been collected yet but up until now our dojo has raised over $31,000.00 in the past 7 years. Great job instructors, students, families and friends of the dojo.
